How to proceed with the quest?
You won’t find Gurranq to be especially talkative at first.
He won’t say a word until you have obtained one of theDeathrootkey items.
Once you get one, Gurranq will ask you to feed it to him.
There’s a total of 9 deathroots in the game.
They can be obtained by defeating specific bosses.
You’ll get theBeast Eyeafter you feed Gurranq the first deathroot, which makes things easier.
You don’t have to kill him, however.
You just need to attack him a few times until he calms down.
The second time, you’ll receive theBestial Slingincantation.
The third time, you’ll getBestial Vitality.
The fourth time, you’ll getAsh of War: Beast’s Roar.
Upon feeding the NPC the sixth Deathroot, you will receive another incantation, theStone of Gurranq.
For the seventh Deathroot, you will receive theBeastclaw Greathammer.
You will earn another beast incantation for offering the second-to-last Deathroot, specificallyGurranq’s Beast Claw.
Once the Beast is sated, Gurranq will leave the Sanctum and you will have completed his quest.
