The best way to explore the city is by moving around its edges, in the counterclockwise direction.
Go North and remain in the Eastern part of the city, for the whole time.
Do not walk away from here immediately, and explore the Northern tower.

It is a soldier several hundred meters away, standing on a dune, outside of the city.
Descend from the tower and go West.
Around, there also is the last AA station (point 10 on the map).
Locate the ladder to the balcony Eastwards of the cannon.
Stand at the balustrade and throw a grenade over it.
The explosion should destroy the cannon and kill the team.
Continue your exploration of the city.
walk away from the destroyed cannon and go North-Westwards.
Complete your journey towards the North-Western part of the city.
Just like earlier, give a shot to keep appropriate precautions, because there are exceptionally many opponents here.
For the very end, leave the vast ruins in the central part of the old city.
Wherever possible, use the advantage of height, to surprise the enemy.
