There are many enemies to defeat like Draugrs, undead and a mini-boss - Mikrul.
Activating the quest
There are a few ways of starting this quest.
Another method is heading toSaarthaland finding thenoteheld by a powerfulbossor going toReachwater Rockand reading thedocumentsfound there.
Therefore you shouldn’t get lost at any point.
It’s best to head south-east ofEast Empire Company.
Enter it to find it completely deserted and the campfire long extinguished.
New main objective: Learn the truth from Daynas Valen
Head inside the dungeon.
Inside the corridor there’s a pressure trap and some gold.
Move onwards and be ready to fight a coupleDraugrsand encounter more traps.
Having dealt with those obstacles, head onto the upper floor and find the body of Daynas Volen.
Search it to find theIvory Dragon ClawandDaynas Valen’s Notes.
Eventually they were all caught by the guards and locked in three ancient dungeons.
The first son of Gauldur can be found inFolgunthur, the second inSaarthaland the third inGeirmund’s Hall.
After killing them, you’ve got the option to continue onwards.
Look out for moreundeadhiding in the niches on the sides of the room and pressure traps.
As you move onwards, look out for the falling rocks - they can hurt you really badly.
Move to the next room and kill the guardingDraugrs.
Head out of the room and pull the lever by the throne on the left.
A big mechanism will kick off the door to the left of the throne.
Behind it there’s a slightly more powerfulDraugranda puzzle consisting of three animal figures.
Go down the stairs and be ready to come across twoFrostbite Spidersat the end of the corridor.
Enter the big room with coffins.
The candles will clearly twinkle and the dead will come back to life.
After putting all of them to rest, you will need tosolve the puzzle by the door.
Arrange the rings and put the claw into the hole in the middle of the door.
Afterwards enter theFolgunthur Crypt.
Enter the crypt and be ready for a difficult fight with one ofGauldur’ssons -Mikrul.
Therefore the optimal tactic is to keep running away from the enemies and shootingMikrulfrom a distance.
With the strongest of the Draugrs defeated, all of his servants will die as well.
With both of them in your inventory, head to the next room and search the chest found there.
Afterwards approach the Word Wall to learn theFrost Breath.
Having done that, it’s possible for you to head out of the dungeon.
