They have a wide range of units with good offensive potential.
Powerful cavalry is their strength because it can destroy multiple enemy units.
Counter them by exploiting the fact that Germans lack units with shields.
Because of that they are susceptible to surprise attacks.
you could also defeat them fast by using archers.
Each lost unit strongly affects Germans because of their cost and the fact that they usually wear upgraded armor.
