Feel free to explore and catch any Pokemon that You like.
If Your monsters are weak, head to the PokeCenter and heal them.
At the end of the road You will enter the game’s biggest settlement, Luminose City.
When You emerge victorious, Sycamore will offer You a Pokemon, and it is one of the starters.
Those have to ability to mega-evolve and will be Your second most important Pokemon after Your first monster.
The choice is up to You.
I suggest to take a different jot down then Your starter, as it will balance Your line-up.
The best choice is Squirtle (my personal choice) as he makes the upcoming gym battle much easier.
On Route 5, battle one of Your friends and explore.
After a decent amount of training, head east to Camphrier Town.
The town itself isn’t quite interesting.
The road is blocked, so You must head north-west, through Route 6 leading up to Parafum Palace.
