Remember - you get 50% of the number of spirits transfered.
In the example in the picture, transferring 5,445 spirits will give you 2,722 gold.

A fairly obvious way to obtain meika is tocomplete quests.
You should get Meika from most of the side quests.
You will encounter several such traders and each of them is interested in specific collectibles/secrets.
Deliver artifacts to receive large amounts of meika (and other valuable rewards).
