The stronger the wall, the longer it takes for attackers to perform a siege.
Iron Gates are a safe and good choice too.
Their resistance makes them the best out of the three upgrades.
A War Graug is also a good option although some captains have no problems in dealing with them.

I strongly recommend this upgrade because archers, both during defense and attacks, are very powerful.
Their ability to set enemies on fire helps a lot.

Personally, I prefer Fire Mines but Poison Mines are also very good.
