Main areas in The Witcher 3
The world inWitcher 3isn’t a single large map like inSkyrim.
Instead,it has been divided into few smaller partsbetween which Geralt can travel.
After completing the prologue in Kaer Morhen, the main character goes to theWhite Orchard.
Until you advance enough in the main storyline, you’re able to’t leave that location.
Another main part of the game world (definitely the largest one) areNorthern Kingdomsconsisting ofVelenandNovigrad.
Skellige Islandsis the last of the main maps to be unlocked.
Suggested character level for Skellige Islands is at least 15.
After you reach selected region, you don’t have to journey through it on your foot.
There is aquick travel mechanismavailable inWitcher 3.
Signposts AREN’T visible on the map since the very beginning of the game.
Despite few exceptions, you will have to find them on your own.
Of course, it’s possible for you to help yourself with the maps in ourworld atlas.
Most of them have their own signpost.
After unlocking the “signpost connection”, it’s possible for you to travel between them.
They work similarly to the detective mode in Batman games or scanning inDragon Age: Inquisition.
Each newly visited location should be checked with witcher senses.
They can make it much easier tofind interactive chests and other containerswith treasures.
Witcher senses are also useful whensearching for tracksin some quests.
In that case, potential clues are marked with red color.
