Anthemoffers a few types of missions.

On this page, you’ve got the option to findall the main types of expeditions.

Story Missions

you gotta complete Story Missions to progress through the game.

Agent Missions

InAnthem, side quests are called Agent Missions.

Usually, they are members of one of the three factions.

Agent Missions can be completed alone or with other players.

After completing every Agent Mission, you get XP and, optionally, loyalty points and loot.

Contracts have random objectives - their fragments are generated randomly.

There are two versions of Contracts - standard and legendary.

The latter is much more difficult, but they offer better rewards.

As a reward, you get a certain number of coins (the in-game currency).

Sometimes, you’re able to also get loyalty points and loot.

Strongholds

Strongholds are the most difficult missions inAnthem.

There, you will face the strongest regular enemies and bosses.

Strongholds require you to play with others.

Invite friends or use the matchmaking option to join random players.

PlayStation

After completing a Stronghold, you are rewarded with XP.

Sometimes, you could also receive loyalty points and loot.

Another important information is that treasure chests appear more commonly here, e.g.

Xbox

after every larger battle.

Strongholds aren’t available right from the start.

Keep doing main missions until you unlock Finding Old Friends mission.

Freeplay

Freeplay inAnthemis a unique pop in of expedition - it combines exploration with random activities.

These activities are called World Events and they activate randomly on specific parts of the map.

Their objectives are also randomized.

Freeplay requires you to join a public sessionwhich means that you will encounter other players.

Your character can fight and explore the world alone, ignoring other Javelins.

Some story missions require you to go to the Freeplay mode.

After loading the map, focus on the mission’s objectives.
